Release day is finally here, and I’m so excited to share that A Cultivated Corpse is now available!
Every book begins with a spark of an idea, and for this one, I knew I wanted Hope to become involved in a community club. Over the years, she’s put a lot of time and energy into renovating the inside of her farmhouse. With three acres of land and a chicken coop on the property, it seemed only natural that she would eventually turn her attention outdoors.
What better club for Hope to join than the local garden club?
After all, what could possibly go wrong?
She’’d gain gardening knowledge from experienced members, become even more involved in the Jefferson community, make new friends, and put her social media skills to good use by handling the club’s online presence.
Of course, if you’ve read any of Hope’s adventures, you already know it’s never that simple.
As I plotted the story, I had so much fun developing the members of the garden club, especially the bitter rivalry between two particular characters. Then I introduced a visit from Claire’s sorority sisters. One of them is keeping a secret that quickly lands her on Hope’s suspect list and creates unexpected tension between Hope and Claire.
There’s also Hope’s important meeting with the team from HearthLife, the brand she’s partnered with to launch a limited collection of holiday aprons. Everything is carefully planned, including a working lunch at Hope’s farmhouse. Looking back, Hope realizes inviting the team to her house may not have been her best decision because someone arrives with shocking news that completely derails the meeting and leaves the project manager less than pleased, jeopardizing Hope’s future with the company.
While I loved writing every chapter of this book, the ending remains my favorite part. Don’t worry, there are no spoilers here. I’ll simply say that I had a wonderful time bringing all the threads together and hope you’ll enjoy discovering how everything unfolds.
Writing books is often a solitary endeavor but publishing them is anything but. Thank you for your enthusiasm, encouragement, and support of Hope Early and the Food Blogger Mystery series. Thank you for recommending the books to friends, requesting them from your libraries, reviewing them online, and sharing your excitement with fellow readers.
I am incredibly grateful and very lucky to have you in my corner. I hope you’ll enjoy A Cultivated Corpse. And if you do share it online, please be sure to tag me. I love seeing your photos, posts, and reviews.
