This week has been a blur of writing and snow, but I still managed to squeeze in some fun along the way. We were hit by a major snowstorm that left us with well over a foot of snow, which meant two full days of digging out. Add in the final round of edits on my manuscript before it heads off to my editor, and it’s safe to say it was a busy one.
Still, even during hectic weeks, I love taking a moment to notice the little things that made me smile. So today, I’m sharing a few favorites from the past few days. Ready? Let’s dive in!
✨ Podcast: Stronger by Design — A new-to-me podcast hosted by fitness coach Michelle MacDonald. She’s also the trainer and daughter of Joan MacDonald, who completely transformed her health in her seventies. So inspiring!
✨ Instagram: @cheez_and_quacker — This account makes me smile every time. Fun fact: we once had nine pet ducks! They were wonderful, but I don’t miss cleaning the duck, especially on these brutally cold days.
✨ Workout: Trainer Mash-Up from GHU — I loved working out with all six trainers in one session this week. Such a fun challenge.
✨ YouTube: Tamsen Fadal — Tamsen interviewed Dr. Gabrielle Lyon, author of Forever Strong, and it was packed with great information about healthy aging.
✨ Current Read: Blade by Wendy Walker — A tense, fast-moving story that takes a deep dive into the shadowy side of competitive sports. I love it and I’m reading it on my new Kindle, which was a Christmas gift and has quickly become a favorite.
✨ TV Series: Hudson & Rex — I adore this show. We had a German Shepherd when I was little, so I’ve always had a soft spot for them. Add in small-town crime and charm, and it’s a win for me.
That’s my roundup for the week! It’s always nice to pause, take stock, and share the little things that are bringing joy—even during busy, snowy days.
Do you have a favorite from this week you’d like to share? I’d love to hear about it in the comments.
