Friday Faves

Friday Faves 7/5/24

Happy Friday! Happy first week in July! July? Wasn’t I just writing my faves post for June? Yep. Now we’re in a whole new month with a long-stretch of summer ahead of us. So let’s make the best of it, says the pumpkin spice, tall boots loving gal. For this summer, Christmas in July edition of Friday Faves, I’ve added two new categories.

My faves this week include a podcast, a Instagram account that always makes me smile, the workout of the week, a favorite YouTube channel, my current read, hair care products and favorite Christmas movie. Ready? Let’s get started.

Hair product: This time of the year when the humidity soars, I turn to a tried and true ally – Mixed Chicks Leave-in Conditioner. I’ve been using this product for several summers and without it my hair is a giant frizz ball. Over the winter I was turned onto Olaplex products and one of my faves is Olaplex No. 6. So this summer, I’ve been adding a pump of No. 6 to the Mixed Chicks Leave-in Conditioner and I’m loving the results.

Christmas in July Movie: This past week Hallmark launched its Christmas in July movie fest and one of my faves Small Town Christmas. It’s the story of a young novelist who travels to the hometown of the man who inspired her book, she reconnects with an old flame and helps restore the town’s Christmas traditions. Stars Kristoffer Polaha and Ashley Newbrough. If you missed it, I wrote a published a post on Sunday with this week’s Hallmark movie schedule and my suggested Christmas themed cozy mystery. You can find the post here.

Podcast: Best Laid Plans. If you love planners, this is a podcast for you. Her most recent episode was a virtual midyear retreat. Yay!

Instagram: Apple Fox Farm. I love seeing photos of the cutest sheep EVAH in my feed.  Babydoll southdown. Too cute! They make me smile.

Workout: I discovered a new Pilates channel, Posture Tonic by Jacinta Brown, and my first workout was sooo good.

You Tube: MiddleAgedMinx. I love catching up with Jo Good every week. She’s truly an inspiration for aging gracefully and living your life on your own terms. Plus, I love her bulldog Myrtle.

Current read: The Body in the Bookcase by Ellie Alexander. I just started this book a few days ago and I’m enjoying it so much.
