Six-Sentence Sunday

Six-Sentence Sunday #2

Today’s excerpt has my sleuth, Hope, arriving at a garden tour/book signing event of a good friend with her sister tagging along. Claire is uninvited and due to recent events in town, she will not be greeted warmly by the hostess.

“Would you hurry up? I’m freezing,” Claire complained as she made her way around the vehicle.
Hope looked over her shoulder. “What do you think it’s going to be like during the garden tour? Audrey’s garden is three acres.” Even she had to muster enthusiasm for a late March garden tour.
Though the sun was brighter and the temperatures were steadily climbing, it just snowed two days earlier. And the morning hadn’t warmed much.

Happy Sunday!

Six-Sentence Sunday

Six-Sentence Sunday #1

A couple of years ago I participated in a link-up called Six-Sentence Sunday where a bunch of writers posted six sentences from a work in progress (WIP) or a new release. I really enjoyed the link-up and reading everyone’s six sentences. As with all good things, the link-up came to an end. So I decided to do my own Six-Sentence Sunday.

My current WIP is a cozy, culinary mystery and the amateur sleuth’s name is Hope.

Hope shrugged. She wasn’t privy to Gilbert Madison’s decision making when it came to hiring a real estate agent. “I’m sure he had his reasons for hiring her. We have a lot of work to get done before Audrey’s garden tour,” Hope said. She wanted to get Vanessa’s focus on work, not
Jefferson’s newest real estate agent. Though, the woman did have everyone talking for one reason or another.

Have a great Sunday!
